You will help maintain healthy blood pressure

Most people know too much sodium causes high blood pressure, but sodium and potassium work together to control it. To regulate blood pressure, your kidneys filter your blood and pull out extra fluid, sending it to your bladder as urine. Your kidneys manage how much fluid your body stores by adjusting this amount.
Excess fluid is drawn from your blood to your bladder by the balance between sodium and potassium. If this balance is off, more fluid is retained and blood pressure rises. Many people are at risk for high blood pressure because less than 2% of US adults meet the recommended daily potassium intake.
