A wonderful way to keep the wood in your home looking shiny and new is to apply furniture polish. A lot of polishes, including Pledge, have two-year expiration dates. Depending on whether they are wipes or canisters, this could change.

The polish's shelf life may be reduced to a year if it also functions as a multi-surface cleanser and contains antibacterial components. You may notice that furniture polish leaves streaks on your wood or has an unpleasant odor when it expires. Furniture polish that goes bad can make the wood less shiny and more dirty, instead of shining and cleaning it.
