Not every company is attempting to come up with a better solution for people to stay dry; this is not just the case with the umbrella hat company. Asahi Power Service Company first unveiled their flying umbrella prototype back in 2018. It's a drone-like shelter that flies above its owner's head, as you might expect.

Asahi expects that instead of carrying shopping bags or briefcases while holding an umbrella, Japanese consumers will be able to enjoy more freedom with their product. Until the law is changed to allow drones to fly within 30 meters of people, the product cannot be utilized on public property.
