39. Deadwood – $4.5 Million per Episode

Deadwood remains one of HBO's most popular shows despite ending years ago. They recently made a new Deadwood movie, and just like the show, it cost a lot to make. Considering the show is set in the 1870s, it makes sense that everything needs to look perfect. Costs on Deadwood quickly escalated due to the period costumes, decorations, props, and horses. Each episode of Deadwood costs a minimum of $4.5 million to produce. HBO decided after three seasons that the cost was not worth it!
