The Most Expensive Television Shows of All Time, Ranked

19. American Crime History – $6.5 Million per Episode

In terms of putting together successful shows, Ryan Murphy certainly knows what he is doing. Since he is the brilliant mind behind Glee, American Horror Story, and Nip-Tuck, he should know what he is doing. His sensationalist series, however, often cost more than any other drama on the network. Murphy's series also has a kitchen sink mentality: he throws in whatever he can, further raising the budget. For instance, American Crime Story's first season cost an insane $6.5 million per episode. The expenses covered some period-specific elements during the OJ trial. Yet most of it went to the paychecks of actors such as Cuba Gooding Jr. and John Travolta!
