There are also so-called "sea gipsies" in the world. They only sometimes come ashore to get water and other necessities for survival; otherwise, they live their whole lives on boats and rafts. Nonetheless, they are a separate ethnic group that resides in coastal regions of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines and is unrelated to the conventional Roma people.
