In 2017, Yukai Engineering felt it was time to take advantage of the cat craze in Japan. To try and launch their product, they set up a Kickstarter page. For anyone who can't have the real thing, there is a cushion-shaped faux cat available.

Qoobo, complete with a waving tail, is made to cheer up lonely cat lovers around. Owners only need to pet it and observe its tail wag. They don't have to feed it, deal with fleas, hear it meow, or change that annoying litter box as they would with the real thing.
