10. AMC AMX/3, 1970

Initial cost: $14,000. Value today: $1,000,000 No, we're not looking at a Lamborghini or a fancy sports car from Europe. But we would not have been better informed, and there is a solid reason for it. Giotto Bizzarrini, an Italian automotive engineer, created the AMC AMX/3's opulent body.

The elegant coupe produced roughly 340 HP and garnered a positive reception from customers at the Chicago Auto Show thanks to its AMC 390 V8 engine. Sadly, that didn't last very long. Only five prototypes of the muscle vehicle were produced before it was taken off the market due to AMC's financial difficulties. What a find, indeed.
