The Most Expensive Television Shows of All Time, Ranked

29. The West Wing – $6 Million per Episode

With an estimated production cost of $6 million per episode, The West Wing was definitely one of the most expensive TV shows of all time. It's easy to see why, just by looking at it! Always focusing on the A-list cast, the camera weaves through a giant, full-scale West Wing set. As a result of the salaries and maintenance of the set, the West Wing cost NBC a considerable amount of money. Despite the $6 million price per episode, West Wing did not always satisfy audiences. According to Gabriel Taste, a Guardian journalist, the show has entered terminal decline after three successful seasons. NBC ended the show in 2006 because the cost became too high.
