The Most Expensive Television Shows of All Time, Ranked

25. Band of Brothers – $12.5 Million per Episode

The HBO drama series Band of Brothers, starring Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, was a huge success for the network and revived the idea of robust, but short, miniseries. Any war series that wants to look and feel legitimate will have to spend a great deal of money. HBO didn't seem to mind. Hanks and Spielberg did have a lot of clout behind their names, after all! As part of the production deal, HBO gave the dream team a whopping $12.5 million per episode. Budgets went to countless expenses, such as the show's massive cast and the fact that it was shot in Europe.
