2. Lord of the Rings – Around $20 Million per Episode

Currently, Amazon is taking part in the most expensive TV shows game, not content to let HBO and Netflix have all the fun. Although their show is not yet airing, the numbers are already dribbling out. They're a doozy, oh boy. A five-season series has already been ordered by Amazon for $750 million. Aside from that, they are willing to pay $250 million for the exclusive rights to the franchise in the near future.
If the series consists of ten episodes, then each episode would cost around $20 million! Therefore, this fantasy show will cost more than Game of Thrones. The only thing left to do is wait and see if Amazon can make the show a reality!
